Upcoming Events
10-Day Photo Contest!
Attention shutterbugs! Take some photos (or collect your favorites) that touch upon the TLLC mission and enter them in our 10-Day Photo Contest.
Semi-finalists will have their photos displayed at TLLC and on our Facebook page.
We'll submit semi-finalist photos on behalf of TLLC in a national contest sponsored by a national nonprofit organization. If your photo wins the national contest, you'll receive $75 (third place), $250 (second place) or $750 (first place)!
Submit your entries by 5:00 p.m. CST, November 6, 2025.
1. Color or black-and-white photographs are allowed. Use .jpeg format.
2. Photos should have some relation to the mission of TLLC or our slogan, "Caring Through Sharing." See our mission statement here. Photos must be appropriate for all audiences. The following types of photos are ineligible: combined images, images with added logos or text, AI-generated or enhanced images, and images that are blatantly promotional and depict a brand or products of commercial value.
3. For each photo that has an image of a person in a private place or where there is a reasonable right to privacy, or has an image of someone less than eighteen years old, fill out a photo release form. The form is located here.

Huge Shout-Out to Wonderful Donors!
We're bursting with excitement so we just had to share!
Two tremendous supporters of TLLC, Susan Goedke and Chris Woodard, who are co-founders of Mundelein LGBT Alliance and Allies, spend a vast chunk of their free time helping our community. As our capital campaign was coming to a close last year, they took it upon themselves to start a fundraising project for the tool library. They took clever, artistic and witty photographs, with a theme of tools and local sponsoring businesses, and assembled them into a wonderful 2025 calendar. We sold a bunch at TLLC, while Susan and Chris sold even more themselves. Susan also took advantage of a generous donation-matching program offered by her employer, Becton Dickinson. Their wonderful efforts have now generated more than $10,000 for TLLC. Thank you Susan, thank you Chris, and thank you BD. Your generosity has helped our collective community and puts life in our slogan, "Caring Through Sharing."
Practical, Hands-on Education
After a short discussion and show and tell of tools and materials, our enthusiastic DIY Drywall students got right to work hanging board, taping and applying joint compound (mud). They were very capable and aced the hands-on activities!
Congratulations DIY Drywall graduates!! We look forward to helping you learn more DIY skills.
