Become a Volunteer

Volunteering is flexible by design. We welcome all forms of support whether you want to help on a recurring basis, in an ad-hoc capacity, or just want to give it a try once! 

The Tool Library is looking for volunteers for the following specialty areas:

• Grant Research and Coordination - Experience with tax-exempt grant writing and research needed.
• Marketing - Experience with retail marketing, preferably non-profit, and/or social media and e-commerce marketing.
• Bookkeeping and Administrative - Quickbooks and spreadsheet skills, accounting, bookkeeping, online document management and organization.
• Event Planning - Plan, publicize and coordinate organizational events (annual meeting, fundraising events).
• Program Planning - Plan, publicize and coordinate programs and workshops (tool usage, craft instruction, speakers, etc.)
• Volunteer Coordination - If you have experience with  personnel management, we could use your help with managing, coordinating  and communicating with volunteers.

We can always use additional volunteers during our hours of operation.  We'll provide a brief volunteer training session during your first visit to cover a variety of topics and familiarize you with our systems/procedures. 

• Member Assistance – Volunteers who monitor our front desk, assist members, restock returned tools, and use our simple inventory program for checking tools in/out.
• Tool Advisors – Volunteers who have a solid understanding of tools/machines, help answer member questions about tools, examine returned tools, and perform simple tool maintenance.
